The following gallery represents highlights of my work in development. These are a collection of projects I’ve helped nourish in a variety of dream spaces, both as a facillitator and as a creator of new work.

Hide and Hide
Roger Q. Mason’s Hide and Hide is a Homeric critique of the American Dream. Working closely with Roger to devleop this iteration of the text, é directed a reading of Hide and Hide at the inagural Breaking the Binary Theatre Festival in 2022.

This dance theatre piece by é investigates the binaries of queer intimacy. é directed a recent workshop (pictured above) at Mercury Store in 2023, which explored a new live score co-composed by é and Emma Lea Hasselbach. A previous reading of the text was presented by Fresh Fruit Festival.

The Pink: An Intimacy Ritual

Trans Lab Showcase
As a culmination of the Trans Lab Fellowship, supported by The Public Theater and WP Theater, é directed a showcase of work by the fellows (including é) at Rattlestick Theater in 2019. Photo by Ty Defoe.

Between Them
Prospect Theater Company produced this short musical commission by é at Symphony Space in 2021. Ideas from this work were further explored in The Doctor is Dead, described here.

Now Lie in It
How do we protect one another inside a system designed for profit? This poetic text by April Ranger was workshopped at The New Ohio in early 2020 under é’s direction.

Ghost Story
While a member of Roundabout Theatre Company’s Directors Group, é developed this short film concept exploring the inheritance of a ghost story.

Pride Plays
In honor of World Pride, Michael Urie, Doug Nevin, and Nick Mayo produced this celebration of queer storytelling at Rattlestick Theater. é directed one of the programs, a collection of works by Trans Lab fellows.

The Listening
This new collection of songs by é is inspired by the process of sharing new music. Begun by a series of songs premiered at Joe’s Pub, The Listening invites its audience to transform sound as it is heard.

Interrupted Projects- 2020
In March 2020, the theatre industry paused. At the time, é was proud to be leading rehearsal and pre-production for several projects, including Memorial, written & compiled by Adam Ashraf El-Sayigh & Arianna Stucki and MOM BABY GOD, a solo work created and performed by Joey Rose. Memorial received development at The Lark (pictured above) and was beginning a workshop at LPAC's Rough Draft Festival. MOM BABY GOD was slotted for performances at The Shea Theater Arts Center.

City Artists Corps
In Fall 2021, NYFA funded a series of public works under the umbrella of City Artists Corps. é designed an outdoor audio installation for solo expereinces.

Chicago Performance Lab

Turning Krasniqi
This heartfelt teenage comedy by Jonathan Alexandratos explores old Albanian traditions blossoming into modern, universal truths about being who you are. é directed a reading of this work at Parity Productions in 2021.

Orlando
This musical adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s modernist classic found new life through Evan Bernardin proudctions. é directed a reading in 2023.

Ithaca
Paola Pilnik traces her Brazilian and Jewish ancestries while writing and embodying this autobigoraphical narrative. Her story searches for rest amidst refuge. In residence at The Dragon's Egg Studio in 2017, Lana Richards and é helped steer Ithaca towards its run at Electric Lodge in Venice, CA.

Judy in Mint
Presented as part of Sacred Circle Theatre Company's 'Word Made Flesh Festival, Judy in Mint recalled the voice of Judy Garland in a duet on identity formation, binary gender presentation, and surreal camp fantasy. Written and Directed by é.

Last Night in Pompeii
A rollicking revision of history and gender through time travel and confetti, this musical by Henco Espag, Briana Harris, and Andi Lee Carter received a reading at NYU directed by é in 2019.

Rooms
Inspired by the words Enda Walsh, é and a handful of collaborators devised a small series of performance installations in private studio work at BAM in 2017.
