if you bury me
if you bury me is a new musical created by é boylan. A contemporary fantasy for queer imaginations, if you bury me follows a secret society of trans outcasts living underground. Using their unique abilities to investigate a mysterious empty coffin, our outcasts sing a song of leaving, of grief that becomes giving, of what begins in the end.
Originally developed as an audio drama, called The Doctor is Dead, IYBM was further developed and adapted for live performance at Polyphone Festival in 2024. FINALIST for National Musical Theatre Conference in 2026, NAMT Fall Conference in 2023 and 2024, and the Jonathan Larson Grant in 2022. Listen to music from if you bury me here.
